SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) has named Ghiané Jones as its deputy chief investment officer effective October 10.
The role is an important new addition to the TRS investment leadership team. Jones, who lives in Chicago, will be based in and manage TRS’s newly established Chicago office.
”Ghiané has a strong background in asset allocation, knows the challenges facing Illinois public plans well, and has worked on and is committed to diversity programs such as ours,“ said TRS Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer Stan Rupnik. “I look forward to working with her and adding her leadership and experience within our investment program.”
For the past six years, Jones served as a managing principal, investment consultant at Meketa Investment Group in Chicago. She has also held roles at Invesco, Northern Trust and Goldman Sachs prior to Meketa.
