The following positions will be included in the May 1, 2025 Board of Trustees election:
- One seat for an annuitant member
- Two seats for active teacher members
Candidates may be nominated to serve on the TRS Board through a petition process. All seats open in this election are for a 4-year term beginning July 15, 2025.
To appear on the ballot, a Trustee candidate must submit petitions with 500 electronic signatures of eligible TRS members. All signatures will be validated.
To request an electronic nominating petition, please email boardelection@trsil.org. An annuitant seeking a seat must provide their name as documented in their TRS member record and city of residence. An active teacher member seeking a seat must provide their name as documented in their TRS member record, city of residence, and any statewide teacher organizations they have belonged to during the five years preceding the election.
Petitions may be circulated from November 1, 2024 until January 31, 2025.
