SPRINGFIELD, IL – Teachers’ Retirement System has issued two formal “request for proposals” seeking firms to provide consulting services designed to help the System make prudent investment management decisions. Illinois law requires TRS to issue an RFP for any investment consulting services at a minimum of every five years.

One RFP is for a firm to provide general investment consulting services covering all asset classes. The System’s current general investment consultant is RVK, Inc. of Portland, Oregon. RVK is allowed to submit a proposal for this RFP. All proposals for the general consulting RFP must be submitted in writing to TRS by 2 PM on Friday, March 9.

The other RFP is for consulting services on decisions within the System’s Diversifying Strategies portfolio. The System’s current DS consultant is Albourne America, L.L.C., of San Francisco, California. Albourne is allowed to submit a proposal for this RFP. All proposals for the diversifying strategies RFP must be submitted in writing to TRS by 2 PM on Thursday, March 8.
